I got into Up With People through an alumni.
I joined Up With People because:
An alumnus came to the college I was attending and told about
his experiences as a student and PR Rep. I was hooked and my
professors helped arrange my 6 month internship with UWP as a PR Rep. I stayed on
for 2 years and loved almost every minute of it!
Favorite memory from staging:
Staging was my very first glimpse of the show. I arrived in Tucson without ever
having seen a show. I was blown away. I arrived in Tucson in January
and it rained for, I believe 5 of the 6 weeks I was there.
Favorite city during our tour and why:
I was very fortunate to be able to go to Australia with E94. That was
definitely the highlight for me..the entire tour. As far as C93...I
remember sadly saying goodbye to what I can honestly say...the best
cast...in Florida (can't remember the city...I only did PR there!) You
guys were on your way to Europe and I was destined to Iowa. My set up
was with Simona and Katri and I cried when you all left. I loved every
team I worked with...Maya and I had a blast working together!
Since Up With People I am:
married to Geoff.
Kids Names and Ages:
Johnathan (5 1/2) and Colton (3)
Occupation:
Lawyer
Greatest Accomplishments since UWP:
Without a doubt..marrying Geoff and having two adorable boys who keep me running off my feet!
What you are doing now:
I have only worked part-time since having children. I've taken
on various contracts in the public relations world. I'm thinking of
taking the plunge into full time employment this Fall.
Other:
I've kept in touch with many students I did PR with, host families, other PR reps
and cast members. Although we get busy in our lives, I still, after
all these years...have the need to connect with former UWP friends. It was
such a unique and amazing time of my life that I want to keep it fresh
in my mind. Would love to hear from others out there. I used to hear
from Maya all the time but we've lost touch so if you are reading this
MAYA...drop me a line!
