I got into Up With People because:
of hosting.
I joined Up With People because:
Three uncles, three aunts, and my parents were all involved in the organization from its birth in the 1960s. My mother still works for Up With People on a part-time basis. We hosted many students during staging in Tucson, Arizona, and I even worked the 1985 summer staging. It was so much fun, I couldn't wait to travel, but I decided to finish college first.
Favorite memory from staging:
Probably seeing the convention cast perform "World In Motion" under the big tent. Two buses broke down on the way to the Broomfield headquarters, and we somehow managed to stuff three buses worth of people into one.
Favorite city during our tour and why:
Belfast, Northern Ireland. Along with Melly Backhaus, Shara Carter, and Rachel Brown, I helped set up the city for the cast's visit. It was an intensely educational experience seeing what life in that conflicted city is really like.
Since Up With People I am:
getting married to Stacie Mizerak. Can you believe it!

My son's name is Kyle.
What you are doing now:
I'm a news copy editor for the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the morning newspaper in Las Vegas, Nevada. I just finished my master's degree in mass communication studies, and I'm happily raising my son.
